Alexander Calder's Circus aka "sandy's Circus" projects
As part of a STEAM (Science, Tech, Engineering, Art, Math) curriculum I am developing, 7th graders work in groups to build a scene from the circus using various materials. Students design, build, and demonstrate their scene as they draw influence from Calder's famous wire circus from the 1920's. Check out the clip below. In addition, parents can view their child's scene at the coming art show by scanning a QR code and viewing the recording on their smartphones!
Check out student creations! All designed, and constructed by random items found at the materials table.
